More Balinese than Indian, Jalakara is a stylish tropical hideaway, perched on a hill surrounded by stunning rainforest. This once overgrown banana plantation has now been transformed into a natural haven. Jalakara translates into 'source' or 'spring' and true to its name this resort really is a source of tranquillity and rejuvenation. With only 7 rooms, the resort is soothingly calm and the absence of Wi-Fi and internet connectivity reinforces the idea of rejuvenation as guests disconnect from the outside world and embrace this dreamy retreat. Besides the spectacular rooms, the resort offers a variety of activities with relaxation in mind which include early morning yoga, stargazing, birdwatching and massages and there is a stunning infinity pool where guests can enjoy a refreshing dip. From here guests can also enjoy more active pursuits such as fishing trips, local treks and scuba diving. There is also an on-site restaurant that serves a selection of fresh seafood and tropical dishes locally sourced from the Andaman Islands.
