Stay at a gorgeous eco lodge along the edge of Masoala National Marine Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dounia’s location allows you to experience the amazing biodiversity of flora and fauna in the region from Antongil Bay. Guests have 500 metres of their own private beach and an eight-hectare primary forest to explore during their stay. The large bungalows are set along the beach and are built with local materials to create a sustainable and naturally inspired experience. Watch the calming ocean waves from your bungalow balcony with a drink in hand, looking out for lemurs in the nearby trees. The bar and dining room is another highlight, serving refreshing drinks and simple and traditional meals using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From the lodge you can snorkel, go whale watching (July, Aug & Dec) or visit the nearby village of Ambodiforaha, known for its wooden crafts and spice culture.
