The concept of Kaav Safari Lodge, a boutique wildlife lodge, was conceptualised when Tony Joseph, a renowned architect, and Sanjay Pothen, a passionate planter, bought the beautiful house facing the Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary deep within Karnataka's Kabini Forest.
The name ‘Kaav’ means ‘Sacred Grove' and was traditionally a part of large homesteads in Kerala. These areas of protected jungle were used for meditation and, left undisturbed, they became the home of various species of birds and animals.
Kaav Safari Lodge is a unique and boutique place to stay with just four bedrooms and two luxury tents on an elevated platform with a wooden deck, located on the edge of the Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary. Kabini and Nagerhole are renowned for spotting tigers, leopards, Asian elephants and Indian gaur. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the forest and offer safari permits twice a day.
A visit to the Kaav Safari Lodge guarantees an excellent wildlife experience combined with homely hospitality and delicious food.
