Lion, elephant and black rhino are the headline species found here, with leopard, cheetah and wild dog spotted on occasion. There is a wonderful variety of plains game and hippo can be seen wallowing in the lakes. Lodges on the crater rim are hugely popular for the panoramic views they offer down to the crater floor and the easy access they boast to the game viewing areas.
