Hobatere Lodge
Hotel Rating
Our rating: Premium | Property style: Lodge
From its enviable location in the heart of the Hobatere Concession, Hobatere Lodge is a great base from which to explore the beautiful Northern part of Damaraland. The lodge looks out across a vast open plain and a spacious hide has been set overlooking a waterhole which is a great spot to relax in the afternoons and watch animals coming in to drink. The bedrooms are found in either thatched rondavels or cottages away from the main part of the lodge. All of the rooms are en-suite and have tea & coffee making facilities and although they are quite small by Namibian standards, they are still very comfortable and ideal for a night or two's stay. The main part of the lodge is a large open plan restaurant and lounge area which leads out on to a shaded veranda which is a great spot for alfresco lunches and dinners. There is a swimming pool tucked away to one side of the lodge and this is a very popular spot for relaxing and escaping the heat of the day. Activities at Hobatere Lodge are focused on seeing the variety of game that lives within the concession including lion, elephant, giraffe and zebra. Guests who are so inclined are able to visit the AfriCat North centre which is found close to the lodge and focuses on the conservation of Namibia's carnivores.
