The elegant boutique Casa Higueras hotel is close to the Paseo Yugoslavo and the Ascensor Peral, in the middle of Cerro Alegre that not only features attractive immigrant houses from the turn of the 19th century, but also provides wonderful views across Valparaíso, its bay and the Pacific. There is a good reason why this quarter was included in the UNESCO World Heritage listing. The lovingly restored five-storey building, dating back to the 1920s, offers 20 comfortable rooms in various categories, whose elegant interiors have just the right mix of nostalgia and modernity. Some of the rooms have private terraces and sea views. There is a stylish outdoor pool for guest use overlooking the ocean, and a wellness area with sauna and massage treatments rounds off the hotel's services.
