Example Itinerary
This is an example itinerary. Our experts have all travelled widely in the region and will be happy to tailor any of our itineraries to suit your tastes and budget, or build a trip from scratch.
Day 1 Arrive in Siem Reap with Phare Circus
On arrival into Siem Reap you will be greeted by your Wild Frontiers representative and transferred directly to your hotel for check in. This evening you will be treated to a unique acrobatic and artistic performance by the Cambodian 'Phare Ponleu Selpak' Circus. Literally translated as ''the brightness of the arts'', this Artistic and Social Centre has been running as a non-profit association since 1994, and was founded by a group of young ex-refugees from Battambang Province.
Day 2 Siem Reap: Sunrise to Sunset
Wake up early and head to Angkor Wat for sunrise and a morning tour of the temple before the crowds arrive. Before returning to your hotel for breakfast, your guide will then take you to an active temple, where you will experience the ceremony “Srouch Tec”, which roughly translates into “pour water”, as a monk washes away your sins and bad luck as he chants in ancient Pali. This afternoon return to the temples to visit Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in the complex. As the day draws to a close, you will board a traditional long tail boat at Angkor Thom’s South Gate and set off on the waterway surrounding the ancient city. The waters are calm and peaceful with the only sounds coming from the birds in the surrounding trees. As you come to the perfect spot, your guide will pour you a glass of chilled champagne. After a long day of touring you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ever-changing colours of the Cambodian sunset.
Day 3 Siem Reap: Hidden Temples & Local Night Out
This morning you will explore the hidden trails of Angkor as you set off by bicycle along ancient city walls and through hidden jungle temples, often free from other visitors due to their remote accessibility. Enjoy some downtime this afternoon at your stunning hotel, before heading out in a tuktuk this evening on a local night out. Your guide will show you some of the local hotspots, away from the busy Pub Street, and you can sample some of Cambodia’s culinary delights and learn more about contemporary Cambodian cuisine and culture.
Day 4 Siem Reap - Phnom Penh with Sunset Cruise & Food Tour
Fly to Phnom Penh today where you will be met and transferred to your hotel to freshen up. Start the evening with a sunset cruise in front of the Royal Palace, before setting off on your private food tour to discover some of Phnom Penh’s best kept secrets, as you sample your way through some of the city’s most celebrated culinary delights.
Day 5 Phnom Penh: City Tour & Killing Fields
After being destroyed by the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s, Cambodia’s capital city is now a thriving epicentre. Sitting on the banks of the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers with wonderful crumbling colonial architecture, it’s a city spinning into the future. You hit the ground running this morning, exploring the highlights of this truly fascinating city, including the National Museum and the Royal Palace. This afternoon head to the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum where our guide will explain the history of the Khmer Rouge and walk you through the different museum displays. You then continue on to the Choeung Ek Memorial, the site of one of the country’s many killing fields. This sobering visit offers an important insight into Cambodia’s tragic and very recent history.
Day 6 Phnom Penh - Krabey Island: Island Escape
Your driver will meet you at your hotel and will drive you to Sihanoukville, a journey which usually takes 3-4 hours. Arrive at the pier where you will board the Six Senses speed boat to the island (about a 15-20-minute ride). Upon arrival at Six Senses Krabey Island you will be greeted by your host with a welcome drink and will be shown to your villa. Soak up the tranquillity of this tropical setting as you relax in the privacy of your villa, on the calm white beaches or try one of the many water activities.
Day 7 Krabey Island: Rest & Relaxation
You have the next couple of days free to relax or explore on your own. There's nothing quite like waking up surrounded by the sounds and smells of both the jungle and ocean, in a tropical paradise so secluded it feels like you've stepped into the world of Robinson Crusoe. This luxurious private island is the perfect setting to enjoy some well-earned R&R, where you can take advantage of a variety of activities and treatments across the island, or simply while away your time in the comfort of your private villa or lazing on the white sandy beach.
Day 8 Krabey Island: Rest & Relaxation
Another free day to relax and explore.
Day 9 Krabey Island - Kirirom National Park: Jungle Escape
Say goodbye to the turquoise waters of Six Senses and get ready for your luxury jungle experience. Shinta Mani Wild sits on the border of three national parks - Cardamom, Bokor and Kirirom, an area that is home to some of Cambodia's richest flora and fauna. Spend your days relaxing to the sounds of the flowing rivers and waterfalls, or set out with conservation experts into the jungle in search of some of the area's more unique species, such as bears, elephants, gibbons and even tigers.
Day 10 Kirirom National Park: Rest & Relaxation
You have these days free to relax or explore on your own. You can go on a tour tailor made just for you or why not enjoy the beautiful spa where you have access to unlimited treatments. At sunset you can join the rest of the resort's guests for surprise pop up drinks.
Day 11 Kirirom National Park: Rest & Relaxation
Another day of relaxation or excursions from Shinta Mani Wild.
Day 12 Kirirom National Park - Phnom Penh: Departure
Say goodbye to the camp and take a private air-conditioned car back to Phnom Penh's airport in time to catch your onward flight.
EXAMPLE ACCOMMODATION
Shinta Mani Wild, Sihanoukville
Shinta Mani Wild is a luxury tented camp created in cooperation with Wildlife Alliance and the Cambodian Government. Bill Bensley, worldwide designer and owner of Shinta Mani Hotels, discovered the need to protect the wildlife corridor between Bokor National Park with Kirirom National Park and its residents, and as such began the concept of Shinta Mani Wild. 350 hectares of land are now protected and provide employment opportunities to local residents through the Shinta Mani Foundation. Guests can hike through the park with Wildlife Alliance rangers to discover the threats to this valuable ecosystem and recover camera traps for important surveying. You can explore further as you board one of the camp's private expedition boats or kayaks. Take a break at the restaurant, set on the edge of a waterfall, where locally foraged ingredients are delicately incorporated into a delicious menu. The Khmer Spa is the perfect end to a day of activities before retiring to the luxury, riverside tents, designed to accentuate the stylish and timeless Cambodia once experienced by Jackie Kennedy.
Six Senses Krabey Island, Krabey Island
Escape to Krabey Island and the Six Senses Resort. The 12-hectare private resort is only a 15 minute boat ride from the mainland yet provides an intimate, romantic island escape. Spread over the island are One-Bedroom Villas and Multiple Room Villas, fine examples of luxury and privacy hidden within lush forest or set along the tranquil coast. When you are not absorbing this incredible location from your villa, wander through the jungle to the Six Senses Spa and take advantage of the Cambodian treatments and daily yoga sessions. Seasonal produce is incorporated into Khmer flavours at the unique setting of the Tree Restaurant. Explore further for delicious Western, Pan-Asian and delicious gelato before sipping a cocktail at the Sunset Bar. Days on the island consist of various watersports, taking part in cooking classes, watching a film at the cinema or discovering the resort's own organic farm.
Rosewood Phnom Penh, Phnom Penh
With one of the best views of Phnom Penh in the city, the Rosewood encompasses luxury and sophistication. The hotel is set within Vattanac Capital Tower, standing tall within the business district and an icon of modern Cambodia. The impressive sky bar expands from the 37th floor to showcase a whisky bar and Japanese tapa restaurant. Travel down to the 33rd floor where the Rosewood Spa will entice you into a sense of tranquillity and calm using traditional Khmer techniques. Custom art is used throughout the hotel in each of the 175 rooms and 37 suites. You can celebrate Phnom Penh's growing art scene by admiring the Rosewood Art Gallery before heading out to discover the French Quarter's hidden gems.
Phum Baitang Resort, Siem Reap
By far one of our favourite properties in Cambodia, the stunning Phum Baitang, which translates as ‘’green village’’, offers you an experience like no other. Spread across eight acres of land just outside of central Siem Reap, the property offers 45 private villas, all inspired by traditional Khmer wooden houses and set amongst lush fields of aromatic lemongrass and tropical gardens. The simple yet stylish design of the villas are complimented by the highest level of service throughout the property, as you enjoy the tranquil spa temple, yoga pavilion, outdoor pool, and a mouth-watering selection of local dishes in the hotel’s restaurants and bar.

Positive Impact of this Trip
Making a Difference
Community Tourism
People and local communities have always been at the heart of Wild Frontiers and the travel experiences we offer. Through community tourism we have the opportunity to generate real positive impact, supporting people we visit through sustainable local development, and in turn help to alleviate poverty and protect culture and environments in often more vulnerable destinations. While doing so, our clients gain richer travel experiences and more meaningful connections with the people they meet.
Conservation and Climate Action
As a travel company, we hold a responsibility to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to sustainability, and work closely with local communities to support their efforts. By implementing initiatives such as carbon measuring, tree-planting, reducing single-use plastic and promoting eco-friendly practices, we can help mitigate the negative impacts of tourism on fragile ecosystems and local communities. Additionally, prioritising conservation efforts helps preserve natural habitats and wildlife, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the wonders of our planet.
Wild Frontiers Foundation
The Wild Frontiers Foundation aims to provide a platform to create awareness, raise money and deliver funding to projects in countries where we operate as a travel company. Through the foundation, we are able to channel money into grass roots projects, which we have either established ourselves or support through charity partners. These include initiatives focused around education, the empowerment of local people and community conservation.
