The concept and construction of this ecolodge, located within the protected Yasuní National Park, derive from the local community who own it and it is recognised as a blueprint for community-based tourism projects. Guests have daily excursions to explore the creek and its environs with expert naturalist guides who seek out the local flora and fauna to introduce and educate guests on their significance. There are 17 lakeside, en-suite cabins, four of which are suites, all with private verandas, hammocks and stunning views. The cabins come equipped with wooden floors and furniture; screened windows and mosquito net-covered beds; and ceiling fans, not to mention the added luxury of round-the-clock hot water and solar powered electricity. Notable excursions on offer include taking a trip up the high viewing tower and a visit to the nearby parrot clay lick.
