Chobe Bakwena is the closest lodge to the Kazangula Ferry Crossing, just 1.5 km away, and is the first lodge one comes to when arriving into Botswana from Zambia or Zimbabwe. The secluded location and friendly atmosphere help to make for a memorable stay. The lodge is comprised of 8 twin or double rondavels and 2 family units which are set under the shade of large Acacia trees. The rooms are all spacious and comfortable, decorated in lots of white to help keep them cool in the heat. All rooms boast their own deck raised up over the river with superb views and wonderfully relaxing, built-in daybeds. The outdoor showers are also very popular with the guests. The main area of the lodge has a lovely swimming pool, a dining room, lounge and the Rain Tree bar which become a hub of social activity in the evenings over an authentic African menu. Activities from the lodge include game drives through the Chobe National Park; cruises along the river, normally taken in the afternoons; bird watching; cultural tours and visits to Impalila Island.
