Think vast landscapes, huge skies and dramatic wilderness; think Namibia. Every scene is another picture postcard with an otherworldly feel. Today was no exception as we stood at the lookout overlooking Etosha Pan which is nearly 5000km2, the horizon stretching out into the distance. Add to that a herd of over forty elephants frolicking at a waterhole, a lucky sighting of a black rhino - Etosha National Park is one of the last places you still have a great chance of seeing endangered black rhino in the wild - and dozens of zebra, giraffe and wildebeest and nothing could dampen our spirits. That was until we had a puncture about 25 metres from a bull elephant having a late afternoon bath! After initial panic we were forced to do the quickest and quietest tyre change possible, whilst keeping an eagle eye on our elephant friend. Thankfully he didn't seem too fussed and the relief was tangible as we set off once again. From here it's on to the great wilderness of Northern Damaraland - no more punctures I hope, but plenty more adventures I'm sure.
